No Need to Take Out Your Smartphone… BYD Unveils 'Single-Button' Device

BYD has introduced a separate magnetic smart device for remote vehicle control, expanding its software and hardware ecosystem. According to Electrek, the company unveiled 'Flexible Buttons,' a new magnetic smart device that can be detached from the vehicle and connected via Bluetooth to its smart ecosystem. Users can control key vehicle functions like infotainment, climate control, and audio without using a smartphone. The device, similar to Apple's MagSafe, can be easily attached to vehicles and charged. BYD also introduced a central magnetic hub interface for managing smart device connections and charging. This technology will debut in its flagship electric SUV, the Great Tang, which received over 100,000 pre-orders within two weeks of its Beijing Motor Show launch. The Great Tang starts at 250,000 yuan ($55.98 million) and offers 950km of pure electric range, flash charging, and a 2+2+3 seating arrangement. BYD continues to advance vehicle intelligence with self-produced batteries and drivetrains, and recently unveiled China's first 4nm smart driving chip.
